I gotta get this out of the way.
I’m not a sports fan. Not in the slightest. I don’t get why people would root for people who agree to a set of rules and work within them against each to accrue points or speed… At least I didn’t fully understand until now.
Sports is as much of a story as other story forms can be, the only difference is that it’s being written in front of us. The victories and losses felt with our teams with more intensity because it’s real.
This is a sports film second only to Speed Racer in the way it excites and inspires me.
This film got me excited about things I wouldn’t even glance at twice. I don’t get it. This is such a treat and in the end I agreed with the sentiment… How can you not be romantic about baseball.
